Removing Software
Hello.
I wasnt sure where to put this. I'm testing the Software Installation and Software inventory features of Atera.
Why are most applications greyed out where I cannot uninstall them? Opera, for instance was a test application. I was able to easily push out Opera to my test PC but I am unable to uninstall it from the same PC.

Also curious what the explanation on this is. I assumed that it was a user-centric install or something like that, but wasn't sure.
I have seen it and just worked around it.

Hello everyone,
Please be informed that if the uninstall option is greyed out in the software inventory, this means that the software does not support silent uninstall.
This is also documented in this KB article.1 -
Sarah, is that accurate? I think Opera for example does have a silent uninstall option. You can script it.

Hi @aschroeger , yes if it is greyed out that is because the silent uninstall isnt available.

Hmm..
- So is that to say that these apps can be installed without an issue and automatically. However, they would have to be uninstalled manually? I.e. if you auto deployed this to 200 workstations, you would either have to manually uninstall each or, if you're on a domain, create a separate GPO to do this?
- How pervasive is this in the Chocolately catalog? Is it clearly noted when creating/building a software profile which ones will not be able to be auto uninstalled?
Thanks for any information

Regarding your second question, there are a lot of packages in there, most are active and current.

"active and current"?
I am trying to ask how many can auto install but cannot be auto uninstalled? Thanks

How do I remove software from a group of devices?

Hello @heimir,
To remove a software application from a group of devices, you can go to the Software inventory report, there search for the application you want to uninstall.
Classic report: Software Inventory – Atera Support
If the application is greyed out in the software inventory report, you can use scripts to remove the application. Then you can run the script on multiple devices at one time, directly from the devices page.
You can even use Advance filters to get only devices with the software installed.
