AI-generated OIDs for instant SNMP monitoring just generates nonsense

Sorry to moan, but for a couple of years now we have asked for proper mib support for SNMP devices and instead you given us AI-generated which just generates complete garbage - I pointed it at our HP officejet pro X476dw and this is what we ended up with :-

    YES. Agree.
Import MIB's is the way to go. (Just like the most RMM competitors providing).
The manual entry of OID's is time consuming and not necessary when we could import MIB's.
The mib's are already there.. every hardware supplier are providing those.
I haven't tried the AI generated OID's and reading this post I'm not even going to try.

I just tried the AI generated OID's anyway.
My test device was a Pfsense firewall.
The AI generated a couple of promising OID's.
Hdd space, cpu and memory usage. But in the end the did not do anything and the values remained empty.
It would be really great if we could import MIB's to Atera,

  • Thank you @nina for opening a ticket on this, The support team have written so far "The OID values are generated, however, the way they are stored can cause the problem.
The period located at the beginning of the OID seems to be missing."

I will let the community know if I hear anything further.

Quick update: Spoke with the Product Team and they are looking into improving this feature! Thanks everyone for the feedback!

Jumping on the bandwagon late here, but when I tried it, it was frustrating that there were IDs generated in the monitoring but not in the alerting and vice versa. Anything generated in alerts should also be in the monitoring section.

This would be a great feature
