Hi

Has anyone managed to find a way to automatically notify the user if reboot is needed or of the device has not been rebooted for a certain amount of time?

Have you checked the option of rebooting outside of office hours?

Yes, but normally the devices are not on outside office hours and I would not expect them to reboot every day.

I have this script that I can schedule when needed or run on demand

msg * /server:localhost /time:6000 /v / w "This is a reminder that there are Security System Updates pending installation, due to the criticality of these updates please reboot at your earliest convenience so the update may complete. Thank you for your assistance Your IT Department "

That's neat, but could be a little suspect looking if they don't know it is coming.

I have been meaning to look into custom Windows "Toast" notifications, but haven't found the time yet.

Too bad we can't use the notification tool from the Atera patching notifications for other purposes, such as this.
