Hi Guys, I am new to the MSP world. Have been doing IT consulting for a while but never did much of a upselling, cross selling or reselling. So I have a new customer who wants to move from google workspace to Microsoft 365 for their email needs.
how do I get started with that?

where do i get them licenses?

what should i charge them so i make some $ out of it?

Appreciate any pointers and help here. Thanks

Heres a walkthrough of the migration. One of the best guides out there imo.

Migrate Google GSuite to Microsoft 365 with Native Tools - Part 1/3 (youtube.com)

Since I dont know anything about your customer, or how many previous customers you have. And since you had to ask, I assume you're not an indirect reseller of Microsoft(Partner). I would say, have the customer buy the licenses from another MSP or buy them directly from the portal (This method requires a credit card).

Going forward, you might want to sign up to become an indirect reseller for Microsoft. And then sell those licenses to the customer yourself. There are some requirements of revenue per year to become partner.(Dont remember how much..) If you're an indirect reseller, purchase price is lower than the recommended list price from Microsoft, thay way you get som margin on each license. Not enough to cover for the time spent supporting all the licenses.

I believe most MSPs go with one of these alternatives:

1 - Extra charge for each license, to cover for support.

    or

2 - charge the recommend price from Microsoft, and add an additional support contract

    Hope this helps.. 😄

Thanks @anton Appreciate your response. and Yes I am new to this and its a small client <20 licenses. I will just have them buy it directly from microsoft then and just add some cost for managing the env.
